\nmonitors the “Weekly U.S. Influenza Report” which rates jurisdictions on a 6-tier scale: Very
\nHigh, High, Moderate, Low, Minimal, and Insufficient data.<\/p>\n

In the latest findings from week 51 (ending Dec. 29, 2023), a concerning trend emerged with 14
\njurisdictions classified as “Very High,” nearly triple the previous count from the CDC Dec. 9
\ndata. An additional 18 were designated as “High,” marking a significant increase. Six
\njurisdictions fell under the “Moderate” category, while the remaining areas showed
\nclassifications of “Low” “Minimal,” or “Insufficient Data.”<\/p>\n
Regionally, the Midwest witnessed a notable rise in case rates, particularly in Illinois, Indiana,
\nand Ohio over the past few weeks. The Northeast experienced similar worsening results in

For the Southeastern states, which were among the early recipients of case spikes, the flu
